In our fast-paced world, kindness can be easily overlooked. Too often, we view people as annoyances, competition, or something to put up with. In honor of Mental Health Month, we want to bring kindness back to our everyday lives. There are so many little things that we can do that don't cost us a lot of time, effort, or money. Everyone is tired, but we are persistent in our belief that kindness matters. We know change takes time. After everything we have all been through over the last 12 months, kindness feels easy, but it won’t always feel that way. So let’s create some habits that will bring kindness to the world for years to come. This is the year to explore the good!
Random acts of kindness may not seem like much at the moment, but to the receiver, it means the world!
Here are some ideas of how to share kindness today:
Buy a coffee for the person in line behind you.
Send someone snail mail.
Offer to help someone clean their kitchen.
Give someone a mentor/tutoring session.
Bring in a sweet treat, like donuts for the office on a Monday or a dreary day.
Offer to help someone on a project.
Be positive when others start talking negatively.
Invite someone to lunch, because who doesn’t love lunch?
Hold the door open for people.
Handwrite a thank-you note to someone who helped you out.
These may seem like little tasks, but they can make a huge difference in someone’s day. Today, take a deep breath. Open your eyes. Look up. Smile. Everything is going to be alright. We believe in you, world changer!
